The Greeting Farm July PREVIEW of CHEEKY LESSON!!

This week we have been previewing the new release stamps coming out July 1st over at The Greeting Farm Blog. Well, I'm here today to show you a CUTE newbie....perfect for all those school projects!!

Although many of us in the U.S. are out of school there are a few of you out there who still have kids in session. Well, who couldn't use a teacher stamp?? WOOT, WOOT!!

When school is in session, we have an AMAZING stamp to use called CHEEKY LESSON!! You will also notice a heart die on my projects below...this Heart Die is part of the FILM DIE SET (a set of 3 dies).

I found some awesome chalkboard paper on clearance at Michaels from DCWV All Chalked Up. It was perfect for my card and 8x8 Shadow Box!!

The number dps on my card is from DCWV The Grade School Stack. Do you see the apple cut out? I made it using the Heart Die from the Film Die Set!! I just cut off the pointy heart end and added a stem and leaf. :) The sentiment is a sticker. I used white chalk to write on the chalkboard paper and it worked perfectly!

This was a plain wood shadow box I bought at Walmart. I also bought the wooden letters there too. Then I painted everything. I actually painted the middle area with chalkboard paint, but it wasn't dry enough to write on yet, so I cut a sheet of chalkboard paper down to size and added it in the middle.

Here's a side view of my chalkboard shadow box.
How would you like a chance to win this CHEEKY LESSON?!!

Here's what you have to do:
*Head over to The Greeting Farm Blog and visit each designers' blog.
*Leave a comment on each designer's blog.
*Then pop back over TGF Blog letting us know you are done.
We will pick a random winner tomorrow from those who completed the hop to win this CUTE stamp!! Thank you so much for stopping by and playing along. Now don't forget to stop back by TGF Blog tomorrow for our final day of previews of these newbies coming out July 1st.
Hugs!!

Inspiration Monday~~SUMMER FUN!

Happy Monday everyone! Well the Birthday Weekend for my little guy was a success! We had lots of family come into town to celebrate along with our awesome friends! Isaiah had a blast and said it was one of his best birthday's ever. It makes you feel so good when you know they had a great time. We had 2 water slides for the party, but by the end of the day the bigger one had 3 large holes in it and started deflating and taking in water......we won't be buying that one again!! What's funny is that the smaller one is an older one we bought a few years ago.....and even though it has some patches, it lasted longer than the new one we just bought! OIY!!

Today starts a new weekly challenge at La-La Land Crafts. The theme this time around is:

SUMMER FUN!!

How appropriate, right?!! The summers here in Texas are a killer from what I've been told. And from what I've experienced over the weekend they are not lying! Several of the kiddos got a little sunburned even though we put on several applications of sunscreen. It's definitely HOT and we haven't even hit August yet!!! This is why I hibernate during the summer and come out in the fall/winter, LOL!

For my card today I created a beach scene using Beach Luka and Beach Marci.

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair: E44, E47, E49
Shirt: YR04, YR07, YR09
Pants: B91, B93, B95
Pail/Shovel: G14, G28, G46

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair: E44, E47, E49
Suit: R81, R83, R85
Hat/Inner-tube: YR04, YR07, YR09, BG10, BG13, BG15, Y02
For my card I used mostly cardstock. The sand colored dp and the light blue dp for the background is from My Mind's Eye Indie Chic-Nutmeg 6x6 paper pad. I used a couple LLLC Dies on my card: the Island from the Cloud, Sun and Island Set, and the Wave Border Die. The clouds were cut out using a Memory Box Die. The Sentiment, Starfish, Sand Dollar, & Shell all came with the Beach Luka Stamp Set. I raised the large cloud and the front beach scene on pop-dots for added dimension.

Don't forget, you can join in all the fun at La-La Land Crafts by adding your creations to the Customer Gallery, Facebook Page and Twitter Feed. Be sure to swing back by the LLLC Blog on Friday to see more inspiration from my fellow DT sisters!!

Rosie :)

Yumi & Fumi Challenge #19: RED, WHITE & BLUE

I hope you're having a great weekend! We had a busy day yesterday celebrating my son's 7th birthday and hanging out with family and friends! We had two water slides for the special occasion and I would say they were a huge hit! I'm telling you Texas summers are no joke and I can see that water activities are a necessity in this awful heat! The party continued way into the wee hours of the night. The great thing is that everyone fell asleep right away.....except me who was up after midnight finishing this card, LOL!!!

TGF Farm Fresh Friday~~SUMMERTIME!

TGIFriday everyone! WOOT, WOOT! Before I get to our challenge today I just wanted to wish my sweet little boy a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY! He turns 7 years old today. All week I've been looking at him and wondering where the time has gone....hard to believe it's already been 7 years!!

This week we started swim lessons. Now, my son hates water on his face. When he takes a shower if he got water on his face I would have to grab a towel and wipe his face or he would freak out. They don't waste anytime at swim lessons. On the very first day they had them putting their entire faces under water. For Isaiah it was a really scary thing!! However, today he was jumping off the diving board in the deep end and then swimming to the side. It's only been 4 days!! To say the least, I am sooooo very PROUD of him!! He didn't even want to go back after the first day and now he want to get a pool in our backyard, LOL!! Today we'll be spending quality time celebrating him!!

Today starts a new Farm Fresh Friday Challenge at The Greeting Farm. This week's theme is:

SUMMERTIME!

For my card today I used the set Sitting Cute. I just LOVE her pigtails!!

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair: E44, E47, E49
Shirt: R81, R85, YR21, YR24
Pants/Shoes: R81, R83, R85

I didn't create a summer scene per say.....instead I used some yellow and blue to create the summer feeling....kind of like she's sitting on the edge of a pool with the sun behind her. I live in Texas now and I soooooo need a pool right now!! The dps are from My Mind's Eye Indie Chic-Nutmeg 6x6 paper pad. The doilies were in my stash. I inked the smaller one with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink. The ribbon was from my stash also along with the gold rhinestones. The sentiment comes with the Sitting Cute set and was cut out using Spellbinder Floral Ovals. Anya and the sentiment are raised on pop-dots.

Here's how to play:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz (on TGF Blog) no later than Thursday, June 13th at NOON CST.

Plaid Coloring Tutorial using The Greeting Farm BABY ONESIE!!

Hi everyone! It was my turn to do a special post over at The Greeting Farm Blog so I decided to share a FUN and EASY tutorial with you!! I get asked all the time how I color plaid on my images. So today I figured I would do a step-by-step photo tutorial. You're probably going to laugh at how easy it is! But I tell ya, when people see it they think it's paper-pieced....so it must be working, right?!

I am using the new BABY ONESIE DIE from The Greeting Farm for my example below. It just happens to be the perfect size to use that chisel tip on the end of your Copic Markers.....you know that other end of the marker that never sees daylight!!! LOL!

Alright, here we go! The first step is to cut out the die! I know, I know I'm breaking it all down really simple here. :) Then cut out the little trim piece that goes across the belly and lightly trace it onto the die-cut so you know where to end your lines.

Whenever I do plaid I always pick a light color and a dark color in the same family. So for my "Boy Onesie" I picked these colors: B01, B05, G12, and G24.

I start off with the lightest colors first to make my initial lines. In this case, B01.

Sometimes I make my lines vertical, but for this example I decided to go diagonal. Do you see that I'm using that infamous CHISEL tip, WOOT, WOOT (finally getting some used out of that bugger)!

Make sure you leave enough space between the lines to add in the next color.

Then using the same B01, draw your diagonal lines the other way.

My next light color is G12.

Draw your green lines in-between the blue ones.

Here's the onesie with both the light blue and light green lines.
But wait....we're not done yet!!

Next we want to outline the diagonal stripes with our darker colors. First up is B05.

Here's where you want to switch back to your brush tip. With light strokes you now outline each light blue line with the darker B05.

Be sure to turn your die-cut and do the lines going the other way too.

Here you can see the B05 outline completed.

Next, grab G24 and do the same thing on the light green lines.

The PLAID is now finished!

I also colored the top of the onesie using B00, B01, B02, B04, and B05.

And for your viewing pleasure, I made a girl one to match. On the plaid lines for this one, I used R81, R85, G12, and G24. The top was colored with R81, R83, and R85.

Here are the two Onesies completed with their trim and collars! Pretty simple technique right?! You can add in additional colors too....just be sure to leave extra space between your first set of lines. :)
Well, that's it folks! I hope you enjoyed my PLAID Coloring Tutorial! If you did, please leave a comment here and over at The Greeting Farm Blog! :)

Also, if you haven't heard the news, there is a FACEBOOK CONTEST going on right now using this AMAZING Die! Head over to The Greeting Farm Group HERE to see how to enter!! You only have until June 30th....so hurry!!

Have a great week!

TGIFriday everyone! WOOT, WOOT! We have been on summer vacation for a week now and it's AWESOME!! Nothing like sleeping in every morning....well not that much because Isaiah still wants to get up at the crack of dawn. But it's nice to know we don't have to be in a mad rush to get somewhere! We've already had one pool play date which was awesome and today Isaiah has some friends coming over to play on the inflatable water slide. It should be loads of fun!
Today starts a new Farm Fresh Friday Challenge at The Greeting Farm. This week's theme is:

BANNERS or FLAGS!

I hope to see lots of you participating in this one!! I'm on a roll altering frames so I decided to make another one. They are so easy to put together! Giraffe: E40, E41, E42, B00, B02, B05, Stickles
I used some adorable Echo Park Papers. It's a 12x12 paper set called "Little Boy". I love the bright colors and it also comes with some matching stickers.
I used the La-La Land Crafts Flag Banner in the top corner. The airplane and sentiment are stickers that came in the same paper pack. I raised some of the elements on pop-dots for added dimension.
