Designed to Color December Challenge-SKETCH!!

Happy Sunday everyone!  This weekend was an eventful one for me. My birthday was on Friday, Dec. 14th.....the big 40!! Hard to believe.....probably because I've been 28 for soooooo long, haha! I guess I better move that number up to maybe....34?! So many friend took time out to make me a card, send me a card, send me flowers or a gift, and leave me love on my FB page. I just want to say a HUGE thank you to all of you for leaving me well-wishes with everything that's going on!! You all are truly special!!

Friday was such a horrific day for many in Connecticut and the entire nation! I can't even image the hurt and pain those families are going through right now. I have a 6 year old son and he is the light of my life! I spent a lot of the weekend hugging and loving on him. Just breaks my heart to know that so many are not able to do that anymore. It was a senseless tragedy. I send all those affected lots of prayers for strength, comfort, and healing.

Yesterday, started our new month-long challenge at Designed to Color. This challenge is a sketch challenge....I love sketches to get the ol' mojo going! Make a card/project using this sketch and link it up HERE.  Don't forget to include a colored image!

And what is a challenge with out a little incentive?  The fabulous folks over at Spectrum Noir have an equally fab prize pack to give away to one of you lovely players. Awesome, right?!?!

For my card today, I used this super cute image from La-La Land Crafts called Christmas Elf Luka. Perfect for Christmas! :)

Copics & Stardust Stickles
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair: E44, E47, E49
Clothing:
Red: R24, R27, R29
Green: G14, G24, G28
Gold: YR23
Shoes: C3, C5, C7, YR23
Presents: R22, R27, R29, YG06, YG03, V15, V17, BG02,
BG05, RV19, RV34, C3, C5, Stardust Stickles, Silver Stickles

Here's the full card. See the presents stacked on the left? That was actually an ornament in the Christmas section at Walmart. It had a clip at the bottom and the presents hung off of wires extending from the clip. I cut them off the wires and then cut the styrofoam presents in half so they didn't stick out so far from the card.

Supplies: Glitter Present Ornament from Walmart (taken apart and presents cut in half), Core-dinations Cardstock, K&Company dps, Recollection Pop-dots
Sentiment: Sticker from Me & My Big Ideas

You have the entire month of December to play along with us!! Don't forget to follow the sketch, add a colored image and link up at the Designed to Color blog for a chance at that AMAZING prize!!

Sending you all love and hugs!
Rosie :)

Now on to our Inspiration Monday! The theme this week is:

SNOW/SNOWFLAKES

I used two images: Snowboard Marci and Snowboard Luka.

 Snowboard Marci:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair: E47, E44, E43
Pink: R81, R83, R85
White: N0, N2, Colorless Blender, Stickles
Board: C5, C3

 Snowboard Luka:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Gray: C5, C3
Red: R24, R27, R29
Board: C3, C5, C7

My little boy brought home an ornament template from school over the Thanksgiving break and we had to decorate it as a family....which this momma kind of took over, LOL! Isaiah picked out the images and I colored them. He also picked out the papers, but I traced and cut them out from the template. Then Isaiah helped add the Liquid Applique to the ends of the tree branches and also helped punch out the snowflakes. Daddy and Isaiah then placed pop-dots behind the snowflakes and added them to the snowy hills.

Those beautiful trees are a La-La Land Crafts Die called Christmas Tree.
The snowflakes are from a Martha Stewart punch.

Here's a closer view of our snowboard scene (you can click on the image to enlarge it):
Don't forget to check out the La-La Land Crafts Company page  and Group page on Facebook. We also have a twitter feed! If you haven't joined our groups yet, you might want to think about it because these are the places Irina announces special sales! :)

Rosie :)

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Monday--Glitter & Gold

Happy Monday y'all! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was busy celebrating my hubby's bday on December 1st and my Godson's bday on December 2nd. Can you believe I still have 6 more birthdays to go, plus Christmas?? Yes, December is a broke month for us, LOL!

Today, I'm back with a new Inspiration Monday at La-La Land Crafts.

The challenge this week is:

GLITTER & GOLD

For my sparkly card today I used Angel Marci with Lyre. I absolutely love the LLLC Angels! I think they are soooooo gorgeous! She's colored with Copics on X-press It Blending Card.

Copics:
Skin: E000, E01, E11, chalk
Hair: E49, E47, E44
Dress: R24, R27, R29, R89
Gold: Y28, Golden Rod Stickles
Wings: E01, E000, Stardust Stickles

The dps I used came from Authentique's Festive 6x6 pad.....beautiful papers! The blinged out circle frame is Making Memories Embellished Frame Noel. I took the white flower off and made a red poinsettia with the LLLC Lotus Die. I just curled in the edges and then added a gold rhinestone to the center.

The gold cardstock is from The Paper Studio. The lace is from May Arts. I raised Marci on pop-dots as usual. :)

Well, that's all for me folks! If you have some time, please stop by the LLLC Blog and check out my sister DT creations....they are amazing!!

In addition, you might want to check out the La-La Land Crafts Company page and Group page on Facebook. We also have a twitter feed! If you haven't joined our groups yet, you might want to think about it because these are the places Irina announces special sales! :)

Have a great week my friends! I'll see you soon!

Yumi & Fumi Handmade Challenge---SKETCH and/or Red, Camel & White

Happy Sunday everyone!! It's DECEMBER, WOOT, WOOT!! Hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner and the end of the year is almost here.....wowzers! Yesterday was my hubby's birthday!! We didn't do anything big.....it was just the 3 of us. Just hung out and went out to eat and even did a little movie night when we got home. I kinda felt bad that I didn't throw a big party for him. But I think he loved it being just us (at least I hope so), LOL!

We've got something exciting for the month of December at Yumi and Fumi Handmade Crafts!!
Today, we have a MONTH long challenge for you with a big PRIZE package!! The prize package will be one that grows as the challenge continues over the month of December. The winner will not only receive a Y&F stamp of our choice, but other goodies as well (which right now includes a Martha Stewart Scoring Board, Paper Pads, Embellishments, Embossing Folders, additional stamps, etc.). Believe me, you'll want to definitely participate!! :)

The challenge this time around is an AWESOME SKETCH from our fabulous DT member Kim Yu. We've also included a twist.....a color combo of RED, CAMEL, and WHITE.

Now, you can combine the color combo with the sketch, or you can just do the sketch or just do the color combo. We are giving you options and leaving the decision up to you.....easy peasy!!

Remember you don't have to use a Yumi and Fumi image to participate. You can use any image from Sister Stamps, La-La Land Crafts and The Greeting Farm!! I'm sure you have at least one of those to work with. :)  You can see all of the Challenge Rules HERE to make sure you qualify.

Here's the SKETCH from Kim:
And, here's the color inspiration from The Perfect Palette of RED, CAMEL & WHITE:

For my card I decided to use one of the new releases, Yeti Yumi!! I love her fluffy jacket and boots!! And her smile is contagious, isn't it?! She's colored with Copics on Neenah Cardstock.
 Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair: E49, E47, E44
Eyes: E44, E43
Lights: R29, B12, B18, Y18, G14, G28
Gloves/Tights: R22, R24, R29
Skirt: C3, C5, C7
Coat/Boots: N2, N0, colorless blender

I decided to combine Kim's Sketch with the color challenge. I kept it pretty simple and I kind of like it. :) The dps came from two new paper packs I bought at Target: Peppermint by Crate Paper and Dear Lizzy Neapolitan by American Crafts. I didn't even know my closest Target was carrying 6x6 paper pads....I think I bought them out tonight!! :)

The large pearls came from my stash. I think the rose ribbon is Tim Holtz. The doily came from Walmart's baking section. I raised Yeti Yumi on my favorite Recollection pop-dots. I get them at Michaels and they are AWESOME!

We hope to see lots of you participating in this month long challenge at the Yumi and Fumi Handmade Crafts Blog!! Now, don't forget to come by and "like" our Facebook Fan Page, so you can stay up-to-date on specials and sales, get your challenge reminders, and share your stuff!!
Have a great Sunday!!

Love & Hugs!!

This past week my hubby was terribly sick and ended up in the Urgent Care and then the Emergency Room so it's been a hectic week trying to take care of him and get him back in good health. One doc gave us a pretty good scare and wanted him to get a CT Scan, but the doc in the ER diagnosed him with Sinusitis and finally gave him some meds. Anyways, it put me a little behind.

The Greeting Farm Guest Designer Monday

Happy Monday everyone! I apologize for the post going up a little late today.

Today is my last post as Guest Designer at The Greeting Farm, and I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Marie and Jessica for inviting me to be a part of this amazing journey! I have loved The Greeting Farm for years so this was truly a dream come true for me! You all have also been so awesome and supportive, and I appreciate all the positive and beautiful comments....they were so inspiring and uplifting!!! It's been a wonderful experience to say the least!!

Last Friday for Farm Fresh Friday, the challenge was "CINEMA-My Favorite Movie" so I decided I couldn't leave without sharing a project featuring one of my favorite movie series right now.....TWILIGHT!

Now, I wasn't always a Twilighter. The first movie wasn't really all that impressive. But my friend suggested I read the books, and that's what ended up getting me hooked! Now, I'm part of the Twilight bandwagon, haha.:)

I decided to alter a collage frame I had lying around. Let me tell ya, that was a lot of coloring! I think I have a hand cramp now, LOL! I'm so glad these images are in digi because I was able to buy them all at one time and download them right away.....instant gratification!!

These are the digital images I used:

I printed the title off the computer. The papers are Bo Bunny. I hand wrote the quotes, but I think I might go back and reprint them on the computer. I still think it turned out pretty good. :)
Now, don't forget, you still have time to link up for the CINEMA Challenge

THANK you all again for being so supportive and awesome!

Love you guys!!
Rosie :)

LLLC Inspiration Monday--GIVE THANKS!

I'm back with another creation....this time La-La Land Crafts! If you are looking for The Greeting Farm frame with Anya Styles, click HERE. :)

This week's theme at La-La Land Crafts is:

GIVE THANKS!

I have so much to be thankful for: a loving and supportive husband, a wonderful and amazing little boy, family, friends, awesome opportunities....seriously, the list could go on for days. I've been participating in the daily give thanks on Facebook and it really has me thinking on a regular basis all the things I'm thankful for. I've been truly blessed in life and I sometimes do not take the time to thank God for everything he's blessed me with. I really need to do that more often!

For my card today, I used Pilgrim Luka. He just seemed so appropriate especially with Thanksgiving right around the corner. :)

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair: YR31, YR23
Hat: E47, E44, E43, YR24, YR23, YR21, C7, C5, C3
Shirt: G28, G24, G21, E47, E44, E43, C7, C5, C3
Pants: E47, E44, E43
Shoes: C7, C5, C3, YR23, YR21
Basket: E55, E53, E51, R29, R24

I used some dps from Basic Grey's Pyrus Pad, along with several LLLC Dies:

The sentiment if from Close To My Heart "A Little Thanks" stamp set. The pumpkin and acorns came from Hobby Lobby. I raised the sentiment and Luka on pop-dots.

Don't forget to check out the La-La Land Crafts Company page and Group page on Facebook. We also have a twitter feed! We would love to see your La-La Land Crafts creations so be sure to link them up to the Customer Gallery for a chance to win a prize.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Hugs,
Rosie :)

The Greeting Farm Guest Designer Monday

Happy Monday y'all! I'm so glad you have joined me today for another project for The Greeting Farm! Those of you who know me or follow me know that I like to alter cheap frames or make 3-D projects. I don't always have the time to make them on a regular basis, but I find cutting and figuring out tutorials fun and relaxing (most of the time, haha!). Well, today I have a special altered frame to share with you.

Last week on Thursday, Marie and Jessica offered up a "Pay It Forward" challenge. You can read all the details HERE! You have until Wed. Nov. 21, at 10pm CST to enter your card and email Jessica, so get those TGF images out and create something for it asap! :)

I think it's an amazing and really touching idea so my project today is based on their challenge. On today's project, I decided to use Anya Styles. She's one of the new releases for November. I think she's gorgeous, and kind of sassy. :) If you can't tell, I really love these Big Anyas!! They are so much fun to color up.

 Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair: E49, E47, E44
Pink: R83, R85, R89
Turquoise: BG10, BG13, BG15, BG18
"white" Shading: N2, N0, colorless blender

My project started with a cheap $1 frame from Micheals. I cut the dps (from Echo Park This & That) in 2"x 2" squares and 1.25" x 2" rectangles, and distressed the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I raised Anya Styles on pop-dots for added dimension. The flowers are from various companies. The sentiment is from Close To My Heart "A Little Thanks" (D1444).

Now, don't forget there are several challenges going on right now at The Greeting Farm with prizes. Please check out the Thanksgiving Pay It Forward Challenge HERE for all the details on how you can surprise a friend in need or who just might need a little pick me up.

Thanks again for stopping by and for all your support and encouraging comments! I love to hear what you all think! :)

Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving!
Hugs,
Rosie :)

Yumi and Fumi Winter Preview!

Hiya my friends! How are you doing? I've been busy (more like swamped) this week. I'm back today with a Winter Preview of the stamps that will be available in the Yumi and Fumi Store on Monday, November 26th!! Each release is so exciting and I seem to love each of them more and more!!

Today, I get to show you a preview of Winter Chuckles! He's modeled after Leanne's cousin Chuck. I met Chuck in January at CHA and I tell ya, he's the nicest guy out there and he ALWAYS has a smile on his face! He works at Disneyland so maybe that explains the smile. :)

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E11
Hat: E37, E35, E34, E31, R27, R24
Shirt: G21, G24, G28
Vest/Shoes: C3, C5, C7
Pants: B24, B91, B93, B95

For my card I used some dps from My Mind's Eye Wonderful Winter 12x12 pad. I wish I could find these dps in a 6x6 pad....they are soooo beautiful and glittery.

The clear rhinestones are from CTMH. I cut the tag and snowmen also from the MME Wonderful Winter paper pad. I love to cut apart different dps and make a scene or banner! You can see in the side view that I raised Winter Chuckles and the snowmen on Recollection Pop-dots....my other favorite product!

You can see a preview of the entire "Winter" collection on the Yumi and Fumi Handmade Crafts Blog!! You should check it out when you have time because there is a ton of inspiration there (we even brought in some guest designers)!!

Have a great week!
Hugs,
Rosie :)

LLLC Inspiration Monday--Use a Number!

If you are looking for The Greeting Farm project, please click HERE.

I'm back again with a new challenge for La-La Land Crafts! This week is going to be a very busy blogging week for me. So if you are looking for something in particular, you may have to scroll down a bit. :)

The theme this week is:

USE A NUMBER!!

I don't know why I don't use numbers more often! I have tons of stickers and chipboard number, but for some reason they don't end up on my cards. I really need to find them and start using them. :)

For my card today, I use the most adorable little image ever called, Christmas Present Luka. He totally reminds me of my son Isaiah! :)

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E11
Hair: E44, E47, E49
Hat: R24, R27, R37, N0
Sweater/Boots: E33, E31, E30, E34
Present: G21, G24, G28, R24, R27, R37

I used some cute dps from My Mind's Eye All Is Bright paper pad. I also used a newly released LLLC Die called Christmas Tree. LOVE IT!!

I cut the date and the word "Merry" from other dps in the same paper pack. The clear rhinestones are from CTMH. In the side view you can see I raised Luka and the tags on pop-dots for added dimension. I love those things and use them on almost every card/project!

Have you checked out the La-La Land Crafts Company page and Group page on Facebook? We also have a twitter feed! If you haven't joined our groups yet, you might want to think about it because these are the places Irina announces special sales! :)

Don't forget, we would love to see your La-La Land Crafts creations!! Be sure to link them up to the Customer Gallery for a chance to win a prize.

Have a great week!
Rosie :)

The Greeting Farm Guest Designer Monday

Happy Monday y'all! How was your weekend? Mine was busy trying to get all sorts of crafty projects done! I was hoping to get ahead, but since I run on sheer last minute panic, I'm just struggling to meet all my deadlines, LOL! One day I'll be ahead of the game, although probably not until after the holidays, haha!

I'm sooooo EXCITED to be back today sharing a creation for my Guest DT spot with The Greeting Farm. Now, if you haven't been to their blog, you are missing out. Each week they have various challenges to participate in to win free stamps...did ya hear me....prizes every week! You have to use an image from The Greeting Farm, but they have digis available HERE.

You still have until the end of today to enter the Double Take Tuesday Challenge: Red, Teal & White. In addition, a new challenge went up on Friday for Farm Fresh Fridays and it's Anything But a Card

I kind of combined both themes for my project today, although I used more Pink, Teal, & White. :) I decided to use the super adorable Anya Celebrates! I LOVE this line of Big Anyas!! They are so easy to color and very, very CA-UTE!! I colored her with Copics on Neenah Cardstock.

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E11
Hair: E44, E47, E49
Shirt/Shoes/Hearts: R81, R83, R85, R20
Pants: E30, E31, E34
Present: BG10, BG13, BG15, N2, N0

My project is a Pop-Up Diorama. I found a tutorial for it HERE. It seems complicated, but it went together somewhat quickly. The time consuming part was making the presents and the banner.

Now, the measurements on the tutorial are in cm. I'm going to give you the measurements in inches that I used for the above diorama. I cut my rectangles 4.50" tall x 6" wide. I measured 1/2" from the sides and used my cutting knife to cut out the center. For the side "hinges", I cut my cardstock 2" wide x 4.50" tall and scored in 1/2 inch increments.

You can tell in the side view that I used various shades of teal cardstock from Core-dinations. The presents were cut from different scraps of dps and then wrapped with ribbon or trim.

The great thing about this Pop-Up Diorama is that you can squash it flatter for mailing. :)

Now, head on over to The Greeting Farm STORE to check out all their stamps and digis! Believe me you won't be disappointed!! Have a great week and see you back here soon. This week is a busy one for me!

Hugs,
Rosie
